Just a short ride from ocean village you will find the town of Stuart which offers a small quaint downtown venue that features restaurants, shopping, entertainment as well as the Green market on Sundays. If you miss farmers market on Saturday in downtown Fort Pierce you can always drive to downtown Stuart for their green market. Besides the weekend market they host several art shows as well as craft shows throughout the year. Recently while visiting Stuart I ran into a new waterfront restaurant called the Boathouse which features outdoor dining overlooking the river as well as inside seating with windows that open during the winter months. The second floor features a bar, about 15 tables and TV screens which is available for private parties or overflow seating. Ocean Village Fort Pierce weekend
The weather is finally starting to cool and October is an enjoyable month here in Florida. With very few tourists and the beautiful weather you have both the beaches and restaurants to yourself. October is probably one of my favorite months here in South Florida. I visited both the community pool and the beach this weekend and had both places to ourselves except for a few local homeowners. I brought the dog out for early-morning walks on the beach and enjoyed the brisk air as we watched the sunrise. We are starting to see new condos and single-family homes coming up for sale as season soon approaches.
